Remember my All Purpose Christmas Cookie Dough recipe? It's great at other times of year as well. I had a roll of it frozen in the freezer from a previous cooking session. I pulled it out the other day and put these together. The kids loved them!
Divide your dough into three equal portions. Use food coloring to color one portion orange and one portion yellow. Leave the remaining portion as is.
Line a loaf pan with plastic wrap.
Press the non-colored dough into the pan first.
Top it with a layer of orange dough.
Add the yellow dough on top and fold the extra plastic wrap around the dough to close it off. At this point, put the pan in the fridge and allow the dough to firm up. Leave it in there at least a couple of hours. I just left it overnight.
Dump it out of the pan and you end up with this striped creation.
Slice it in thin slices the length of the pan.
Then slice each piece into triangles as shown. Bake at 350 degrees for 8-9 minutes.
Allow to cool on a wire rack and then enjoy - I'm warning you, you won't be able to eat just one. They are the perfect little snack size cookie for school parties or other get-togethers this time of year.
